In Vampire Crawlers, players must fight hordes of enemies to progress through each dungeon. The deeper you go, the harder it is to maintain your health. In this guide, we’ll cover all the ways to heal and restore HP, as well as the most important characteristics for survival.

How to Heal in Vampire Crawlers

There are three ways to restore health in Vampire Crawlers: eating a “floor chicken,” completing a battle after upgrading the “Recovery” characteristic, or sacrificing a card in the snack bar. Let’s take a closer look at each method.

Floor Chicken

The simplest way to heal is to find and eat a “floor chicken.” You can get it by breaking light sources, just like in Vampire Survivors. Each chicken restores 10 HP.

At the beginning of the game, the light sources are not marked on the map, making it difficult to find them. However, there is a relic called “Guiding Light” that shows all points of interest on the level, including light sources. To get it, you need to unlock the “Inlaid Library” map and defeat the mini-boss on the second floor.

Recovery Upgrade

This upgrade can be purchased in the village shop. Each level of the “Recovery” characteristic gives +1 HP after each battle. For example, with three levels, you will receive +3 HP after each fight.

Sacrificing Cards in the Snack Bar

The most effective, but least reliable, method. While exploring the dungeon floor, you may stumble upon a snack bar. There, you can sacrifice one card from your deck to restore 30 HP.

This gives a lot of health, but there is no guarantee that you will encounter a snack bar during the run.

Tips for Increasing HP and Defense

To avoid being on the brink of death and to rely less on healing, it’s worth increasing your overall health and defense. To do this, you need to visit the village shop and purchase the corresponding upgrades.

Here are the key characteristics to upgrade first:

  • Armor — reduces damage taken.
  • Max Health — increases overall HP.
  • Recovery — gives healing after each battle.
  • Revival — allows you to continue the game after death.

Upgrading these characteristics will make your character significantly more resilient and increase your chances of successfully completing challenging dungeons.
