How long does a playthrough take?

“Yoshi’s Mysterious Book” isn’t especially long. Most of the content is visible during the first run, and there isn’t much to discover after that.
Consequently, you can expect to finish the game in roughly 20 hours. If you skip re‑playing levels and rush straight to the end of each, you can cut that down to about 12–15 hours.
Seeing and doing everything is a bigger task, but not a particularly hard one. All major collectibles—like “Smile Flowers”—appear on the first playthrough, and Yoshi doesn’t gain new abilities later, so you can grab them all right away.
If you manage to collect every “Smile Flower” during your initial run, you’ll only add a few extra hours, bringing the total to around 30 hours.
The most time‑consuming part is finding every “Discovery” for each creature. While it’s possible to do this in a single run, some can be missed if you make the wrong choices, often requiring repeat attempts. Because of this, a full 100 % completion will take about 40 hours.
