The gameplay of “Yoshi and the Mysterious Book” is straightforward and consistent: you open a chapter, catalog its creatures, and move on.
You can revisit any completed chapter at any time—actually, you’ll need to if you want to learn everything about the creatures. That’s where Discovery Events come in. Here’s everything you need to know.
What are Discovery Events?
After you finish the first chapter, Wildwood, a new event appears in the book: a swarm of Bee‑buns suddenly thinks about the red Glabbit. Interacting with it takes you to the creature’s page, where you can jump into a unique instance of its habitat.
In these Discovery Events you can learn more about both creatures involved, but the main purpose is to give you a fresh way to engage with the creature whose habitat you’re exploring. After completing the event, you can always return to it from the creature’s page.
These events don’t contain any exclusive collectible items, so you won’t have to hunt for hidden Emoji‑Flowers.
There’s also a random type of Discovery Event. A blot of ink with eyes shows up—sometimes even in Mr. I’s “Contents” section. Following it leads you to a specific creature. The goal is to locate the Discovery the blot points to, and you’ll earn extra Tokens as a reward.
All Discovery Events
Discovery Events appear throughout the ten main chapters of the game.
