What are “Easter eggs” and why look for them?
This is one of the most common questions I get about Easter eggs in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
In LDK, Easter eggs are literally “eggs”. So far it looks like there’s one egg per level, with a few levels still missing an egg or waiting to be discovered.
The first egg I saw mentioned online was the one I found on the very first day the Deluxe edition launched. I posted the discovery in the spoilers channel of the Tell Tale Games Discord, and Andy from TTG replied:
The lead level designer at TT Games answered with a single line: “Enjoy the hunt.” That raised a lot of questions. What hunt? Are there more eggs? Yes.
As of May 23 2026 I’ve tracked down 17 Easter eggs. Here’s a quick list:
- Infiltration → Infiltration
- New Beginnings → Docks
- Carmine Falcone → Iceberg Lounge
- The Red Hood Gang → Factory Meltdown
- Mimes → Shreck’s Department Store
- The Penguin → Arctic World
- Flugelheim → The Party Man
- Joker → The Big Dukeroo
- Two‑Face → Haly’s Circus
- Kite Man → Power Plants
- Poison Ivy → Botanical Gardens
- Firefly → Knight at the Museum
- Mr. Freeze → The Ice Man Cometh
- Tumbler Chase → Rough and Tumble
- Arkham Asylum → A Serious House
- The League of Shadows Returns → A Shadow Over Gotham
What do they unlock?
At the moment, after “breaking” all 17 known eggs, we still don’t know. It could be that we haven’t found every egg yet, that we need to visit a specific location after collecting them, or that there are extra steps beyond simply finding the eggs. In any case, the reward remains a mystery, and you’re welcome to join the hunt and help solve it.
You could be the first person in the world to collect them all.
How can I help?
To aid the search, just play the game, locate any eggs that aren’t on this list, snap a screenshot, and share the location with the community. That’ll bring us one step closer to figuring out what the hunt actually unlocks. Yes, we still don’t know what the final reward is.

Good luck and…
Egg #1
Return of the League of Shadows → Ascent to the Mountains
This is the first egg we know of. Early‑level testing hasn’t turned up any others yet. Thanks to user Austin_2727 from the TT Discord for the find.
Head to the crash site of the plane:
The egg is tucked behind the plane, on the cliff edge, just past the column shown here:
Tip: Enable High‑Contrast mode in the accessibility settings to make eggs easier to spot. Below is the first egg in high‑contrast (highlighted in blue):
Egg #2
Infiltration → Infiltration
The “Infiltration” level is the first long‑form stage and the first where you can find other collectibles. The second egg is shown in the screenshot below:
Reach the end of the level, jump down into the inner courtyard, and open the door to the boss fight with Ra’s al Ghul. As soon as you land, turn around—you’ll see the egg on the roof to the left.
You can break the egg with a shuriken without climbing onto the roof. The image below shows a possible jump if you prefer to get up there.
Egg #3
New Beginnings → Docks
After dealing with the thugs, you chase after Arnold Flass. The third egg is in the final room where you’d normally break the wall to interrogate Flass. Don’t interrogate him. Instead, turn around and look to the left of the entrance. The egg sits on the air‑conditioner, as shown:
Egg #4
Carmine Falcone → Iceberg Lounge
The fourth egg is hidden in the “Iceberg Lounge” level. While arresting Carmine Falcone you’ll pass through the “Game Zone”.
Find the monkey DJ blasting music in front of the big slide, then look to the right of the inflatable castle. The egg rests on the window ledge, as seen below:
Egg #5
The Red Hood Gang → Factory Meltdown
During the chase after the Red Hood, before the confrontation, look behind the column on the right side of the ramp that leads further into the factory. The egg is hidden there:
Egg #6
Mimes → Shreck’s Department Store
This one is fairly easy. It appears in the first Catwoman mission, between the two landing points you reach after crawling through the ventilation:
Egg #7
The Penguin → Arctic World
Thanks to Gipadamus and Ajironman45 from the TT Games Discord for the screenshots.
Egg #7 is tucked into the beams beneath the ceiling of Arctic World. After you defeat the exploding penguins and the ventilation opens, go through the vent, turn around, and look at the beams in the room—that’s where the egg is.
Egg #8
Flugelheim → The Party Man
This level hides one of the cleverest eggs. In “The Party Man” you follow the Joker’s trail; the egg is in the corner of the room with the Joker’s head. It’s even visible on the security camera if you use Catwoman’s ability.
Egg #9
Joker → The Big Dukeroo
This one’s a bit trickier to explain. During “The Big Dukeroo” you’re supposed to launch three balloons. Don’t complete that task, or the mission will progress and the egg will become inaccessible.
The egg is to the right of the castle‑shaped platform. Climb onto the metal structure on the right (or behind) and look toward the start of the level. You’ll see the egg hidden behind a stone column:
Egg #10
Two‑Face → Haly’s Circus
This egg is very easy to spot. As soon as you receive the task to defuse Two‑Face’s bomb, turn around and check under the sign.
Egg #11
Kite Man → Power Plants
One of the best‑hidden eggs so far. In “Power Plants” you play as Robin and Batman, destroying a mutated plant. Head to the generator room:
When you enter, jump down and look left to the area shown:
Squeeze through the pipes—you’ll see several birds and Egg #11:
Thanks to user Nvm.creator from the TT Games Discord for the screenshot!
Egg #12
Poison Ivy → Botanical Gardens
Despite the level’s lush scenery, Egg #12 isn’t hard to find if you know where to look. Follow the usual path until you reach the area between the trap jumps:
Look left at the massive green vine—you’ll see the egg attached to it:
Apologies for the low‑quality screenshots; better ones are coming soon.
Egg #13
Firefly → Knight at the Museum
This egg is easy to miss but cleverly placed. In the first room of “Knight at the Museum”, slide down the rope to the two columns on the left, right next to the start point:
and
From the spot where you slide down, fly over the fire and you’ll see Egg #13 to the right, beside the partition.
Egg #14
Mr. Freeze → The Ice Man Cometh
This one is straightforward but was only discovered recently. Fight Mr. Freeze until you reach Part 2, then don’t finish the task that transitions to the second fight—leave him tied up.
When Part 2 begins, interact with the machine to tilt it forward (don’t stand on it). Crawl between the machine’s legs; the egg is attached to the right leg:
There was a barrier that stopped the batarang from breaking it. I used Batgirl’s drone, created a landing point, and shattered it from a better angle. The egg is already broken in the photo, but the flower effect is still visible:
Egg #15
Tumbler Chase → Rough and Tumble
An egg during a car chase? Why not! I kept overlooking this one despite it being pretty obvious. Play the mission normally until you take control of Talia, then keep going until you see this vehicle:
If you haven’t spotted it yet, the egg is inside the Smile‑Ex van. Break it to add to the collection.
Egg #16
Arkham Asylum → A Serious House
The best mission in LDK also hides an egg. When Scarecrow infects you with fear toxin, look up as soon as you enter the fear state—you’ll see the egg perched on the roof:
Egg #17
Return of the League of Shadows → A Shadow Over Gotham
And finally, Egg #17. At the time of writing this is the last egg I’ve found, and oddly enough it’s the easiest in the whole game. Follow the mission until you reach the staircase lined with cameras.
Egg #17 sits on a lamppost on the street, just before you descend the stairs:
