Of all the things that frighten me in Subnautica 2, the massive Leviathan Collector—a giant squid—ranks at the very top. The first time I headed toward the Alien Ruins, this monstrous sea creature barreled at me at breakneck speed, snapping everything in an instant before I even knew what was happening. The truth is, we’ll all have to face this beast at some point, and some players will even hunt it on purpose. With that in mind, here’s where to find the Leviathan Collector in Subnautica 2.
Location of the Leviathan Collector (Giant Squid) – Subnautica 2
The Leviathan Collector is a gigantic squid that dwells in a hot‑temperature trench east of the Rescue Capsule.
Use the “Tadpole” Depot signal as a waypoint to reach the area. It’s located about 700 meters east of the Rescue Capsule, hanging over the trench where the “Tadpole” Depot investigation took place. Our first encounter occurred when we visited the site for the first time.
The “Tadpole” offers some protection, but your goal is to dodge and escape. If the Leviathan Collector grabs the “Tadpole,” it can crush it with ease. If it catches you while you’re out of a vehicle, it’s instant death.
The water around the Leviathan Collector is extremely hot, so you’ll need to unlock Overheat Resistance Adaptation from the infected Angelic Fin.
