In the South Boiler area of South Island there are eight Riddler puzzles. Some of them require you to examine the surroundings closely to find clues and unlock cube cells. Smoke Cacophony
- Break the antenna next to the cage to expose a hidden lever.
- Pull the lever to start a sequence puzzle. You must press the buttons in time with the chimney sounds.
- Correct order:
- First stage: Center, Left, Center
- Second stage: Left, Right, Center, Right
- Third stage: Left, Center, Right, Right, Left
Spinning Plates
- Rotate the wheel until the figure lines up.
- The disc lights up when it’s in the correct position, so no guessing is needed.
- When it lights up, hit the nearby switch to change the disc and line up the next one.
- Repeat three times to open the cage.
Spinner, Spinner, Chicken Dinner
- The code is written on the wall to your right.
- The panel, however, is missing a tile that shows all three correct symbols.
- Rotate the panel until one correct symbol lines up.
- Use Jim Gordon’s gadget to lock the gears.
- Rotate the panel again and repeat until all symbols are aligned.
High Pressure
- Take the wheel on the right and insert it into the central socket.
- Turn the left wheel all the way to the left.
- Turn the right wheel all the way to the left.
- Turn the central wheel all the way to the right.
- The cube will then drop.
Story Time
- Head to the floors indicated above the panel: floors 4, 6, and 8.
- Use Batman’s UV vision on each floor to reveal the required symbols.
- For a quick solution, use the symbols shown in the third image above, or enter:
- The odd symbol with a dot at the bottom
- The die showing the number 4
- The vertical line with two horizontal bars in the middle
- Pull the lever to collect the cube.
Recklessness
- You’ll need Batgirl for this one.
- First, hack the wrecking ball with Batgirl’s Batarang and lower it.
- Call your vehicle and use L1/LB to pull the wrecking ball.
- The ball will swing into the bus in front of it, exposing the cube inside.
A Big Thank You
- This puzzle requires Catwoman.
- Follow the blue wire from the cage until you reach a wall that Catwoman can climb.
- Climb up, activate the first switch, then grab the railing.
- Move left and use the grappling hook to swing across.
- Climb the wall there to hit the second switch.
- On the same wall, go down to find and activate the third (final) switch.
Selfie Start
- Use Batman’s UV vision to scan three walls inside the factory:
- One wall opposite the Riddler’s machine.
- A second wall on the right side.
- A third wall on the outer left side.
