Crimson Desert is an open-world action-RPG where you play as a mercenary named Kliff, struggling to rebuild his clan after a crushing defeat. Most of your time will be spent on quests, boss fights, or sky-high puzzles, but a host of items can slip past you if you don’t poke into every corner.
One such item is the Helfrin leather armor set, hidden in the capital of the Demeniss region. Here’s how to track down every piece and what each one brings to the fight.

Where to Find the “Black Sun” Shield

Head for the castle in the southern part of the city and look for the long bridge that links the streets to the main keep. Drop into the water and swim under the farthest arch from the castle (shown above). Face the keep, then sink your dagger into the wall by pulling the left trigger.
Next, use a Force Push to flip the secret wall and slip into a small room with a chest containing the “Black Sun” shield. The shield comes at upgrade tier 4, offers 7 defense, and grants Movement Speed Boost II. It also has two Abyssal slots already fitted with cores: Damage Reduction I and Stamina Cost Reduction on Block.
If the city of Demenissa still treats you as hostile, come back after Chapter 8; the town will be peaceful and you can loot at leisure.

Helfrin Leather Boots
Start with the boots. Make your way to the main keep on the city’s south side. Step outside and study the main gate leading into the capital.
Just right of the gate, along the wall, is a small hole boarded up with planks. Smash them with any weapon and crawl inside.
In the tiny room beyond you’ll find a chest holding the Helfrin Leather Boots and some Palmer’s Pills. The boots are upgrade tier 3, grant 15 ATK, 4 DEF, Crit Rate Boost II, and Lightning Resistance I. Their two Abyssal sockets give +10 % silver gained and Fire Resistance I.
For the chestpiece, head to the south-east quarter of the city. Look for a cluster of connected white-stone towers. At ground level find the facade of the taller bell tower (crowds of soldiers and townsfolk make it easy to spot) and go to its left side.
Climb about halfway up the left wall until you reach a narrow stone ledge and a few short columns. Find the spot where the columns form a small rectangle (shown above) and wedge Kliff into it. Push the stone wall inward to reveal a hidden chamber with a chest containing the Helfrin Leather Chestpiece.
The chestpiece is tier 3, offers 9 DEF, Lightning Resistance I, and three Abyssal slots pre-loaded with cores for health regen, swim speed, and damage reduction.
Now go north to the inner wall and look for a guard tower wrapped in thick vines on one side. Approach and climb the south face where the vines are thickest.
Just under the roof, left of the vines, you’ll spot a secret rotating wall (shown above).
Sink your dagger (left trigger) and follow up with a Force Push. Hold the resistance button or the wall will spin you off; if you slip, you’ll miss the gloves’ chamber.
Open the chest to claim the Helfrin Leather Gloves. They’re tier 3, grant 16 ATK, 4 DEF, Lightning Resistance I, and Crit Rate Boost I. Their two Abyssal sockets hold cores that add a 10 % chance of an extra pickpocket drop and a climbing-speed boost.
Helfrin Leather Cloak

No long trek needed for the cloak. Step outside the tower where you found the gloves and look at the wall you Force-pushed to get in. Left of it stands an L-shaped building with a brown roof. Find the openable second-floor window directly above a stone arch.
Climb through and check the far-right corner of the attic for the cloak. It gives 3 DEF and Ice Resistance V, making it perfect for exploring Pailun.
