To obtain the “Black Sun” shield in Crimson Desert, you must complete the quest “The Treasure.” The mission begins after you capture Ursula during a bounty hunt and read her journal. Then follow her trail to uncover Ursula’s secret hideout. One of the rewards in her treasure chest will be the “Black Sun” shield.

The “Treasure” Quest in Crimson Desert

While exploring Demeniss, you’ll come across plenty of purple bounty posters. One of them tasks you with capturing Ursula—a criminal spotted growing dangerous crops at Slopsid Farm.
Head to the marked area and you’ll spot Ursula at the center of a circular marker. She’ll try to flee, so keep an eye on the quest icon on your map—it moves with her.

After capturing Ursula and turning her in, you’ll receive “Ursula’s Journal.” Read it from your inventory to start the “Treasure” quest.
The journal mentions a secret map. Follow the quest marker and pick up the map on a table inside the house. Your next objective is to find and examine the clues mentioned in Ursula’s journal.
How to Find and Examine Ursula’s Journal Clues
Ursula’s map marks three locations. However, when you arrive, you may not see anything to interact with. That’s because you need to dig up the small dirt mounds in the area.
To do this, use a regular shovel; only then will the “Dig” prompt appear. An upgraded shovel won’t work.

The first journal clue is in the center of a triangular field. In the middle is a grape symbol—the solution to the “Golden Plains Secret Room” puzzle.

Next to the grape symbol, near a scarecrow (if you haven’t smashed it yet), you’ll find a small dirt mound.

Equip your regular, non-upgraded shovel and the dig prompt will appear.

You’ll receive the clue “Second Part”—one of three left by Ursula.

Now head southeast for the clue labeled “First Part”.

Take out your shovel again and approach the dirt pile until the dig prompt appears.

After obtaining the first part, look ahead for a large haystack near a campfire. Head that way for the final clue.

Again, go southeast to the marked spot.

The dirt mound is by a fence near a lake.

Once you’ve found all the clues, examine them from your inventory. This completes the current objective and unlocks the next: “Find Ursula’s Secret Place.”
Where to Find the Black Sun Shield (Ursula’s Secret Place)

Ursula’s secret place is in the watery part of Demeniss.

Go under the bridge to a suspicious-looking wall.

You’ll recognize it by the faint leaf symbol on the wall.

You can shine your lantern on it to make the mark more visible.
However, if you try to hit the wall, it will simply bounce back and you won’t get through.

You need to climb the wall, then select “Hold On” to stab your weapon into it.

Simply strike the wall to flip it.

Since you’re anchored to the wall, you’ll flip with it. Inside Ursula’s secret place is a treasure chest containing the “Black Sun” shield.
