Gold ore is one of the most vital resources in Crimson Desert. It’s used not only to upgrade accessories but also to craft gold ingots that can be sold. The ore is mainly found in gold mines you’ll have to discover on your own—however, you can obtain a Gold Vein Map that reveals every mine location and makes gathering far easier.

One of your first priorities should be completing the side quest “The Stolen Quarry” from the story arc “A Manor in Despair” for the Roberts house. During the quest you’ll liberate the Karin Quarry and face off against the boss Excavatron Marnie. Once you win, you’ll receive both the Drill Fist weapon and the Gold Vein Map, unlocking every gold mine in Pywel.

Here are all nine gold mines the map will reveal:

  • Anvil Cave in Anvil Hill, Demeniss region.
  • Mist Shard Cave in Dead Fire Mountain, Demeniss region.
  • Second Finger Cave in Five Finger Mountain, Paylun region.
  • Silver Wolf Cave in the Lost Forest, Paylun region.
  • Two Sandspur Gold Mines in Tashkalp, Crimson Desert region.
  • Coastal Gold Mine near the Crimson Mountains, Crimson Desert region.
  • Desert Lake Gold Mine in Varnia, Crimson Desert region.
  • Guardian Cave in Snake Tail Wall, Delesia region.

Most of the mines on the map lie far from Hernand, and reaching them takes time. You can, however, head straight to Anvil Cave—a solid early-game source of gold ore.

When you arrive, drop into the ravine and you’ll spot a huge boulder blocking the entrance. Smash it with a Spinning Strike or Palm of Force to get inside.

Expect to meet several stone crabs within, so clear them out before you start mining. Once they’re gone, pull out your pickaxe and harvest every gold-ore vein in Anvil Cave.

You’ll easily collect between 6 and 10 pieces of gold ore here. Use it to upgrade accessories or sell to a merchant, but it’s smarter to stockpile until you have 100 units, smelt them into gold ingots, and deposit those in the bank for steady passive income.
