Crimson Desert offers plenty of ways to tailor the gameplay to your style, including weapon choices that match how you like to fight. If you want to master key combat techniques and breeze through the toughest foes, dual blades are a great way to crank up your damage.

You can switch to twin-sword combat at any moment—mid-fight or while exploring—to keep enemies on their toes. Here’s how to do it and how to unlock powerful attack combos by collecting strong one-handed weapons as the story unfolds.

You can pick any one-handed weapon for dual-blade combat, opening up a huge range of combo possibilities and move sets.

Mix and match different weapons to experiment with stats, since the main characters are flexible enough to wield two powerful swords at once.

Dual-wielding requires one-handed weapons. Two-handed arms can’t be paired by Cliff, Unka, or Damian.

Strong one-handed options like the Taurian Curved Sword or Molten Ambition are excellent for dual blades, offering special effects that stack nicely and let you shred groups of enemies.

Overall, dual-wielding has no major downsides beyond a slightly reduced ability to block.

What you gain instead:

  • Unique attack strings and patterns that turn you into an offensive powerhouse.
  • You can pair powerful Abyss Gear—like Shadow Claw—with dual blades to pull off lethal combos.
  • Rapid strikes make it easy to chain hits and keep enemies staggered.
  • Blocks and parries create perfect openings for counterattacks when enemies retaliate.
  • Boost your damage potential with two blades by slotting more Abyss Gear or upgrading your kit.

While you can now manually stow your shield on your back, dual-wielding gives you an in-universe reason to ditch the shield entirely and enjoy the sheer style of fighting with two blades.
