Crimson Desert hides dozens of rare pieces of gear and unique armor sets, each with its own look and powerful perks. Many of them can be hunted down from the very start, and while reaching some spots takes effort, it’s perfectly doable if you’re persistent.
One such spot is the coastal village of Vellua, now overrun by a pirate gang. Offshore sits a ship carrying a rare item that makes treasure hunting a lot easier—the Pirate King’s Hat.

You can set out for the hat at any time, but the easiest moment is during the quest chain “Beyond the Silent Waves” for the Vellua Fishermen’s Guild.
After defeating Sir Catfish, grab a boat on the coast and head to sea.
Steer southeast from Vellua’s shoreline into open water. Soon you’ll spot a pirate ship called The Singing Catfish.
Watch out for mines scattered in the water around the vessel. Thread carefully between them as you approach.
Board the ship and start clearing the pirate crew standing in your way.

Make your way down the ladder into the main hold, fighting pirates as you go. Look for a door set into the wooden wall and step inside.
Open the treasure chest inside and claim the Pirate King’s Hat.

That said, the hat is mostly an aesthetic pick—loot locations can always be looked up elsewhere. It all comes down to how you like to play.
