Crimson Desert hides a ton of items and secrets, and the Golden Apple is one of the most mysterious—and profitable—resources around. With it you can create a virtually endless stream of wealth, and gathering it is quick and painless once you follow this guide.
Golden Apples grow on the backs of hedgehogs, and an apparently infinite supply spawns at Grey Rocky Wharf northeast of Hernand. Below we’ll show you the farming method and explain what to do with Golden Apples to make the time spent collecting them worthwhile.
To harvest Golden Apples you’ll need to wear a mask. Without one you can’t pick them up, because the game bizarrely treats it as “theft.”
Golden Apples are found on hedgehogs at Grey Rocky Wharf.
Grey Rocky Wharf lies northeast of Hernand, as shown in the images above.
Clear the area of hostiles first or you’ll be in for a nasty surprise.
From the Royal Shield Mountains (also pictured) head southwest toward Grey Rocky Wharf and scan the ground along the path for hedgehogs.
If you don’t spot a hedgehog before crossing the northern bridge, double back to your starting point and repeat the loop. The animals respawn without needing to reload or teleport.
We had the best luck between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.—several quick runs usually netted multiple hedgehogs carrying Golden Apples.
To claim a Golden Apple you’ll either have to kill the hedgehog with an arrow or knock the apple off its back (much harder). Don’t worry—killing the critter won’t put a bounty on your head.
Once the Golden Apple hits the ground you can loot it like any other item, but remember: the game still treats it as stolen goods, so be ready to sprint out of the red zone before the bounty triggers.
How to use Golden Apples in Crimson Desert
Save
You can sell Golden Apples to any merchant for 114 silver, but that’s the worst way to use them.
Instead, craft Golden Ingots from Golden Apples—they’re worth far more when invested at the Bank or sold to traders.
Take your Golden Apples to any Witch and open the “Craft Abyss Gear” tab.
Switch to the “Unique Goods” tab with R2/RT, then select the “Golden Ingot” recipe.
You can craft one Golden Ingot from ×1 Golden Apple and ×3 Gold Ore.
