  • Save

In Crimson Desert, the Cooled Sword can be found in the hands of a skeleton tucked into the corner of a large, open snowfield west of Peylun, right next to First-Finger Lake at the very edge of the map. You can grab it right at the start of the game—no bosses to beat, no puzzles to solve. Here’s how.

To claim the Cooled Sword in Crimson Desert:

  • Fast-travel to the Abyssal Trail in the White Mountains, Skoghhorn region (shown above).
  • Follow the road northeast, then turn left at the fork.
  • Thread the narrow mountain path to reach the snowfield outside the “Snow Haven” camp.
  • Cross the arena straight to the far side and spot the skeleton gripping the Cooled Sword.
  • Interact with the sword to pick it up.

The snowfield where you find the sword doubles as the boss arena for the White-Horn Yeti fight, which only unlocks after completing a set number of Peylun-faction quests.

Fixing the missing-sword bug

Players have reported the Cooled Sword occasionally not spawning. The common trigger is activity around the item: if the skeleton holding it is disturbed, both skeleton and sword can sink under the snow and vanish.

Simply reload an earlier save and try again. The sword’s location is fixed; it will always appear in that exact spot regardless of game state.

The Cooled Sword is a one-handed weapon that carries early- and mid-game players nicely, though it falls behind once stronger unique arms become available.

You can snag it almost immediately if you know where to look—no bosses, no story-locked puzzles. Just head to the right spot and it can, in theory, become your very first main weapon.
