Platinum is a valuable resource in Crimson Desert that can be sold for 380 silver coins or used to craft powerful weapons. You’ll need a special blueprint and several rare materials to make it. Here’s a detailed guide.
How to get the platinum blueprint

- Head to the Scholastone Institute in the southern part of the Hernand region (unlocked after Chapter 4).
- Enter the central building—the library. Face east (turn right from the main entrance).
- Climb the eastern wall to reach the library’s upper floor.
- Find and pick up the platinum blueprint, then learn the recipe. After that you can discard or sell the blueprint.
How to craft platinum
You can craft platinum at a Witch. The first such NPC appears in Chapter 5 in the Witchwood of Hernand.
Interact with the Witch, choose “Craft Abyss gear,” and switch to the “Special Items” tab (R2/RT).

How to get gold ingots

- Go to the Demeniss Menagerie, south of Demeniss City.
- Find noblewomen wearing rabbit masks.
- Light and equip a torch to reveal their inventory—some will carry a gold ingot.
- Sneak up, hold Square/X to pickpocket and claim the ingot.
How to get sulfur
- Travel north from Demeniss toward Mount Deadfire until you reach the Sulfur Keys.
- Look for large Sulfurclaw crabs disguised as rocks.
- Attack the water-spouting stones to make the crabs explode, dropping 2+ sulfur each.
- Fast-travel to reset the area and farm the crabs again.

- Head to the Smokelands Hearth north of Demeniss.
- You’ll find a mercury pool there. To collect it you need the “Frost” skill at level 1.
- Equip “Frost” via the right D-pad.
- Purchase the bow skills “Piercing Wind” and “Piercing Wind.”
- Aim at the pool with your bow, hold L2 and release the ice “Piercing Wind.” This will create collectible mercury.
- You need 3 mercury units per platinum ingot.
How to get holy water
- Buy holy water from confessors in any region’s churches.
- Convenient spots are Hernand City and Demeniss City. Price: 3 silver coins each.
- You need 2 holy waters per platinum ingot.
Once you’ve gathered every component, return to the Witch and craft the platinum. Use it for high-end crafting or sell it for a tidy 380 silver coins.
