In Crimson Desert, the Valley of Sorrow hides a mirror-and-light puzzle most players bump into during the “Crossing Point” quest in Chapter 9. This guide walks you through solving it and unlocking the Spire of the Sun.
The gist is simple: slide mirror-topped cubes into the right spots. Below you’ll find a step-by-step walkthrough with visual cues.
How to solve the first Spire of the Sun puzzle
- The first half is handled with the mirrors on the left.
- These mirrors sit on cubes you can shove just by walking into them.
- You can also pull cubes by pressing L1+Triangle to stab your sword into them, then drag with the left stick.
- Both mirror cubes need to end up in the top-left and bottom-left corners to complete the big square.
- Once they’re in place, the light bounces into the crystal and opens the way to the next puzzle.
How to solve the second Spire of the Sun puzzle
The images above show where every mirror should go. Follow these steps:
- Slide cube A into the far-left corner; it will reflect light onto the fixed mirror.
- Move cube B to the upper-left corner; it sends the beam right.
- Shift cube C to the middle of the back wall; it bounces the light right toward the crystal.
- Push cube D into the far-right corner, next to C; it aims the beam at the static left-hand mirror, which reflects it back to A.
- Place cube E in the rightmost corner; it reflects the light onto the final fixed mirror in the center, directing the beam into the crystal.
How to climb the Spire of the Sun (Unwavering Steps)
- After solving both outdoor mirror puzzles, use your Wings to glide to the Spire of the Sun.
- Inside, climb the stairs and interact with the first mirror. Angle it with the D-pad so the beam hits the mirror high on the upper left.
- Head up the next flight and repeat with the next mirror.
- Keep spiraling upward, redirecting the light onto each successive mirror.
- The final mirror must shoot the beam at the ceiling, unlocking the lift to the Spire’s Abyss.
Sometimes the beam needs to be aimed lower than it seems. Experiment with mirror tilt until the light bridges the gap.
