In Crimson Desert, you’ll come across a wide variety of materials, ranging from minerals used to upgrade armor and weapons to ingredients for cooking. As you explore the game’s open world, you’ll need to gather a large quantity of these items.
However, not all materials are created equal. Some, like palm leaves and palm beetles, are particularly crucial for crafting an upgraded palm boost, which fully restores your health when you die, making it a game-changer in tough battles.

Where to Find Palm Leaves and Palm Beetles

Fortunately, both of these materials can be found in roughly the same areas, making it easier to gather them. There are only a few key locations where you should focus your farming efforts to get the resources you need for the upgraded palm boost.
To make collection easier, it’s highly recommended that you use the Yellow-Claw Gardening Bag and the Yellow-Claw Insect-Gathering Bag, as they significantly speed up the process, especially when collecting palm leaves. Without these bags, you’ll have to pick everything up manually, which can be tedious. Also, keep in mind that palm beetles don’t stack in your inventory, so make sure to free up as much space as possible when farming them.
The first location is south of Ernest, northwest of the Mountain of Frozen Souls. Follow the shoreline and look for a large waterfall. At its base, on the right-hand side, you’ll find a small field with palm leaves.
Equip the Yellow-Claw Gardening Bag and activate it to collect the leaves quickly. If you don’t have the bag, simply approach the white flowers and collect them by hand. Be sure to check among the same white flowers for palm beetles, as they won’t run away, making them easy to gather.

The second location is in the village of Pororin, near the large tree where you completed the “Palm Leaf Research” quest for Lumiell. To access this area, you’ll need to complete the faction storyline quest “Trembling Forest” first. Once you’re in Pororin, head to the northern part of the village and find the big tree inside a cave.
Several clusters of palm leaves grow around the tree, making it an excellent spot for quickly gathering a large number of leaves. However, palm beetles are scarce in this area.

The best spot for farming palm leaves and palm beetles is west of the Scholastone Institute. From the academy, climb the mountains above Lake Haronso and locate the ruins occupied by a band of bandits. Clear the area by eliminating all the bandits, then approach the large stone structure in the center.
Around this structure, which is shaped like a “П” (the Cyrillic letter “P”), you’ll find an abundance of palm leaves and beetles. This location is perfect for rapidly gathering the resources you need to craft upgraded palm boosts. Although it’s a bit off the beaten path, I highly recommend starting your collection here.
Once you’ve gathered enough beetles and leaves, visit any witch’s house and use her large cauldron. By adding water and other materials like ginseng or long horns, you can craft as many upgraded palm boosts as you need.
