All mounts in Crimson Desert: from horses to dragons and mechs

In Crimson Desert, there is an amazing variety of mounts: from classic horses to combat bears, wolves, and even mechanical armor. Players can get both temporary and permanent versions of each of these mounts, although access to the most exotic ones will likely take time. If you’re interested in what types of transportation are in the game.

Horses

  • Save

Players receive a regular horse immediately after completing the prologue of Crimson Desert, and in most cases, this is the best type of mount in the game. Horses are ideal for moving around flat terrain; if you need to get somewhere far, it’s best to do it on horseback.

Legendary Horses

Different horses have different characteristics, and the more you ride them, the more skills they unlock. There are also legendary horses that have higher stats and more skills than regular ones. To find them, you need to complete a quest related to the Legendary Wolf, as this will reveal the location of all Legendary animals on the map.

Bears

  • Save

Upon reaching Paivel, you will encounter wild bears, as well as fighters on Black Bears, literally riding black bears. If you weaken these bears enough, you can ride them. They will be friendly to you until you dismount, and until then, you can command your temporary bear mount to attack enemies while you are on its back.

Legendary White Bear

Players can get a permanent bear mount by defeating the White Bear. Defeat the bear, then tame it to get an item that can be turned into a Solidarity Seal at any Witch in Paivel. After crafting the seal, use it in your inventory to unlock the legendary White Bear as a permanent mount. The bear has a huge amount of health and will attack all nearby enemies, even if you dismount it.

Like the White Bear, the Snow Ibex is another legendary animal that players can get. However, instead of finding and taming the animal, you will need to defeat a boss in the western part of Paivel. This boss is an archer riding a Snow Ibex, and it can be challenging if you are not prepared, especially since it is supported by other hunters and horseback archers.

Essentially, the Snow Ibex is a horse with a different model. It behaves similarly, although it does not have the skills that make legendary horses so valuable.

Rocky Badger

  • Save

This is another legendary mount that can be obtained by defeating another boss. This time, you need to head to the jungle between Dellesia and the Crimson Desert, far east of Ernand. The badger’s low stamina makes it a poor choice for covering large distances, but if you need a mount to charge into battle, then this is definitely your option.

Silver Fang Wolf

  • Save

Players can get a permanent Silver Fang Wolf after completing the same quest with the Legendary Wolf that is required to reveal the locations of all Legendary animals on the map. And, like the legendary White Bear, this wolf will fight on your side when summoned. After completing the quest, head to the Howling Abyss cave south of the Ancient Rift in Ernand and track down the silver wolf that lives inside. As with all other Legendary animals, you will need to visit a Witch and craft a Solidarity Seal to unlock the Silver Fang as a permanent mount.

The game also features many other animals that players can use as mounts, although only temporarily. This list includes:

  • Lions
  • Elephants
  • Giant stone lizards
  • Cuckoo birds

The lizards and cuckoo birds are used as mounts by certain enemy factions (the Golden Scale bandits in the Crimson Desert and the Blinding Arrows in Dellesia, respectively). Meanwhile, elephants can be found in the Demensis Menagerie south of the city.

Dragon

  • Save

Upon reaching the final chapter of the main storyline, you will unlock the ability to summon the Black Star – a dragon that appears to be connected to the Abyssal defenders. The Black Star can run, fly, and breathe fire, making it an excellent combat mount. However, it can only be summoned once every 50 minutes, until you obtain the Narima’s Horn, which will completely remove the cooldown.

Cloud Carriage

  • Save

The Cloud Carriage is essentially a hot air balloon and one of the first mechanical vehicles that players will encounter in the game.

You will get the opportunity to ride the Cloud Carriage by completing the storyline of the House of Grace faction in Ernand, and you will also be able to build your own once you have learned its blueprint.

Cloud Carriages are no match for the Black Star in terms of speed or coolness, but access to them is opened much earlier in the story. They can also be upgraded after completing a quest for the main NPC scientist in the Scholastone Institute.

Carts

Players can drive most horse-drawn carts found throughout the world. While they are not much different from regular horses, carts can be sold to black traders at a profit. You can either hijack a cart driven by traders, steal a parked one by the road, or free one that has been captured by the Bandit Gang.

After several upgrades to the Graygash camp, you will eventually get a side quest that will unlock access to your own cart. It can be used to sell packed goods to local trade posts.

ATA.G Mech

  • Save

ATA.G is a small walking mech, fully equipped for war. It is equipped with rocket launchers, machine guns, and electric field generators that can quickly take out almost any regular enemy in the game. Players can find ATA.G suits in special hangars in Gorthak and get their own after completing several quests for the Iron Flame orcs. After completing these quests, you will be able to summon your personal ATA.G at will and sow chaos throughout Paivel.

Trains

  • Save

While the trains that run through the Crimson Desert and Dellesia are not formally considered mounts, you can indeed ride them. You will occasionally see a train on the tracks that cross these regions, and you can catch up to it if you want to just ride.

Boats

  • Save

There are many rowing boats scattered throughout Paivel that players can use.

They are ideal for crossing wide bodies of water, but unfortunately, you cannot claim any of them. If you need to travel by water, you will have to use one of the flying mounts. Otherwise, use the Palm Strike skill to triple jump and simply glide over the water.
