The royal bismuth crab may seem like easy prey because of its sluggishness and large size, but to actually kill it you need to know exactly how to deal damage so you don’t waste time merely stunning the creature.

The royal bismuth crab is easily killed by climbing onto its back and, using a grab, stabbing it with a dagger as if you were opening growths on its shell. It is a very weak boss that is extremely easy to defeat if you follow the guide below.

  • To damage the royal bismuth crab, you first need to jump onto its back. You can do this by using a jump and a triple palm strike to climb onto the crab, or by attacking its legs to temporarily immobilize it.
  • Once on the crab’s back, you need to destroy the crystal‑mud growths (shown above).
  • Where the growths were destroyed, white cracks will appear on the crab’s back, which can be broken.
  • To break them, press L3 to cling to the back, then R2 to stab it with a dagger.
  • This essentially opens the ulcer and deals more than half of the damage to the royal bismuth crab. Repeat this until the blue health bar turns red.
