Top 10 Best Chips in Raccoin: How to Power Up Your Raccoon and Survive Any Round

  • Save

Raccoin features clips, prizes, special coins, modifiers, and other unique items that help you improve and boost your odds of surviving the current round. Among these unique items are chips—you can socket them into cards to gain permanent buffs and bonuses for future rounds.

The game has a ton of chips—over 100!—and many are character- or build-specific, so it can be tricky to know which ones to focus on. We’ve rounded up some of the best all-purpose chips in Raccoin that will serve you well in almost any situation.

Police Light

  • Save

Bad coins can wreck a run: early on they’re a minor nuisance, but the headaches they cause in later rounds can end your attempt outright. Besides the special coin we mentioned in our beginner tips, you can prepare with the Police Light chip.

Its effect is simple: whenever the shop warns that the next round will feature a Bad coin, the chip prevents any crook from even spawning—but the Police Light is consumed in the process. A fair trade.

Piggy Bank

  • Save

Piggy Bank shows up early from the Trader or Manager and is one of the most useful chips for those classes. In short, every normal coin you don’t spend is saved. With a bit of luck you can clear the first few rounds using only special coins and hit round five with dozens of coins in reserve.

That surplus is handy for builds that need piles of coins or for pushing lanes that demand a fat bankroll. Keep an eye on this little pig.

Engineer Rat

  • Save

Simple but potent, Engineer Rat gives +3 rating for every active gadget you control.

You usually start a run with few gadgets, but later you can pick up a UFO caller or a pot for a chunky rating boost.

The Sketch card lets you duplicate one gadget per round, which pairs beautifully with Engineer Rat.

Screen

  • Save

Screen is more situational and can be awkward to level at first, yet it shines in long rounds where you can stack coins on the specific side it demands.

To maximize it you’ll want plenty of normal coins or supporting effects, but with the right setup it can hand out around +15 rating without breaking a sweat.

If you’re playing Biologist (not our favorite class, but still fun!), you’ll rely on animal and plant coins. Most of your strategies revolve around special coins—especially animal coins that need to interact with others of the same type.

With a good build and a little luck you can reach a round with an expanded clip and unused special coins still sitting in it. That’s where Fluffy Clip comes in: it grants +0.4 rating for every animal coin in your clip. The number stacks fast, which is exactly what you want.

Landlord

  • Save

This chip super-charges your shop currency. If you snag Landlord early or at least by mid-run, avoid blowing your tickets right away so the chip’s interest effect can snowball your savings.

Many prizes that award tickets based on coin clusters in certain board areas synergize perfectly with Landlord.

Hamster

  • Save

Remember Engineer Rat? Hamster is its rarer cousin, scaling off prizes instead of gadgets

To unlock its full potential, grab the Prize card for an extra slot and then hunt for a prize that lets you hold even more prizes.

You’ll use Exchanges a lot while learning Raccoin, but once you find a favorite character and strong special coins you can skip them. For every unused Exchange you gain +1.5 rating.

As Manager you start with six Exchanges, giving +9 rating right away. You can pick up another Exchange via the Paper card (the first one you receive), pushing the total to +10.5 rating—a massive spike for early and mid rounds.

Rogue-pedia

  • Save

Every run throws hordes of annoying Bad coins at you. So why not earn a tidy bonus while dealing with (or suffering from) them? Rogue-pedia grants +2 rating for every rogue you eliminate, giving you a nice late-game kick.

Best of all, unlike most rating chips on this list, Rogue-pedia’s boost is permanent for the entire run and never resets between rounds.

Treasury

  • Save

Treasury is the only Epic chip on our list, and that’s not a knock on the others. Apart from Hourglass and Annual Bonus you won’t see many Epics during your runs, and we’d put Treasury at the top of the pile.

It grants +0.1 rating for every normal coin in your hand. Not huge in the early rounds, sure, but if you can pair it with Piggy Bank mentioned above and sit on a fat stack of coins, you’ll gain ludicrous rating just for holding them. Priceless.
