Raccoin Character Tier List: From Newbie to Record-Breaker

At the start of a run in Raccoin, the first thing you’ll do is pick a character. Six heroes are available, and to unlock the next one you must reach a specific round with the previous.

Each character has unique traits and makes certain power-ups appear more often. There’s no outright “wrong” pick, but some heroes give you far better odds of not only finishing a run but also smashing your high score.

How the tier system works

As mentioned, Raccoin has six characters, and the game will force you to play at least one run with each so you can meet them all. A few are easier to learn, which helps if you dislike complex mechanics, but they often fall off at high scores compared with those who thrive in chaos.

So, ease of use, record-setting potential, and character-specific power-ups all shape their spot in our tier list. As always, tier S+ is the best choice for most players, while lower-tier characters are more situational and suit pre-planned strategies.

Chemist

If you love the chaos of Raccoin, the Chemist is a can’t-miss pick. Speed and strategy are everything, and while you never want to lose momentum, being reckless is just as dangerous. The Chemist strikes the perfect balance for any play style.

Unlocking third, he may look tricky, yet he offers enough variety that you don’t have to stick to a rigid plan to max out your score. The Chemist is all about reactions—meaning tons of explosions, shelf-shaking blasts, and total destruction, which translates into mountains of coins.

Pair that with a skill that boosts modifier rewards and the Chemist will likely be the first character who sends your score sky-high. Plus, he’s an absolute blast to play.

Merchant

The Merchant is where things start to get serious. He offers huge, almost game-breaking potential—but only if you play a tight, calculated strategy, which can make runs feel a bit dry despite the ever-spinning wheel.

If your goal is to keep beating your own records or push an infinite run, this is your guy. The Merchant charges spins faster and can snag free shop items. Combined with his usual power-ups, you can create an almost endless feedback loop.

However, if you don’t need that level of intensity and prefer chill sessions, you’re probably better off picking someone else.

Glutton

The Glutton is the final unlock and, as you’d expect, the most complex. This pup focuses on food coins, chaining them for maximum payoff. It’s a bit like the Biologist’s animal-coin minigame, only far less annoying.

Food coins are far more flexible and combo with lots of other food coins, so you don’t need ultra-specific pairs to get results. Still, if you like strategic planning, there are plenty of recipes to chase.

All in all, he’s another genuinely fun character who can be as simple or as deep as you want, and you can absolutely push him to the limit.

Manager

The Manager is the first character you’ll play and is unlocked by default, making him the easiest to pick up. Thanks to that accessibility, he sits a bit higher in the tier list than he otherwise might.

He lands in A rather than S because his kit focuses on getting you to the end of a run rather than necessarily racking up a huge score.

High scores aren’t impossible with the Manager, but with his heavy ticket theme he’s best for casual players who just want to enjoy the ride and win without chasing world records.

Astronomer

After the Merchant, the Astronomer feels like a breath of fresh air, returning you to the chaotic fun of the Chemist. His gimmick is astro-coins: most of the special coins he creates have the “Astro Fall” effect and can land anywhere on the board.

Like the Chemist, his chaos level means you can’t rely on pure strategy, so he’s not ideal for hyper-focused players. At the same time, outcomes are less predictable than with the Chemist, so he’s not great for newcomers either.

In the end, the Astronomer winds up as a slightly worse version of a tier-S+ character.

Biologist

Sadly, the Biologist sits at the bottom of our list. That doesn’t mean he’s bad—just that he’s best for players who simply enjoy his style rather than those chasing top scores and win stats.

His core theme is animal and plant coins. The big issue is that most of them need matching pairs on the board to reach full power.

On top of that, valuable coins like Multicoin or Killcoin appear less often for him. Overall, he has the narrowest focus without enough payoff to justify the effort, which lands him in tier B. Still, if you genuinely love his playstyle, you can still post solid numbers.

We’re skipping the Owner in this article since he’s used only in the tutorial, but you can always replay that stage to brush up on the game’s mechanics.
