In the vast array of chapters and Creations found in Yoshi And The Mysterious Book, some truly stand out, particularly in the game’s later sections. One such notable Creation is Yu Ef Oh.
With a name that’s as inventive as it is intriguing, Yu Ef Oh seems tailor-made for the level it appears in. This also means that uncovering all of its Discoveries often requires creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
Given its name, it’s no surprise that Yu Ef Oh appears in the “Moon” chapter, and as the very last Creation. Although this is the first and only time you can interact with it directly, it’s not the first time you’ll encounter it.
In fact, you’ll catch a glimpse of it earlier in the game during the battle with Junior Bowser, where you need to hit Yu Ef Oh to free it. However, there are no Discoveries to be found at that point.
All Discoveries of Yu Ef Oh
This level is the only place where you’ll interact directly with Yu Ef Oh, and it’s here that you’ll find all of its Discoveries. Despite being limited to this one area, you can still make a significant number of Discoveries.

Let any other object be captured and absorbed by Yu Ef Oh’s beam.
Sapped the power from Crayzee Dayzee
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb Crayzee Dayzee. After a few seconds, it will spit it out bleached.
Eggs collected for research
Find the room with various eggs in test tubes.
Broken by an egg
Throw an egg into Yu Ef Oh’s beam so it absorbs it and gets briefly stunned.
Knocked off course by a top‑down strike
Position yourself above Yu Ef Oh and perform a ground-slam to stun it.
Spat out by Yu Ef Oh
Be fully absorbed by Yu Ef Oh, after which it will spit Yoshi out a few seconds later.
Survey data: uploaded
Find the data point in the center of the level and hover near it with Yu Ef Oh so it transmits all collected data.
Golden beetle studied for a token rain
Find the Golden Beetle and let Yu Ef Oh absorb it. After a few seconds, it will spit out all the tokens.
Unflappable before the exploding Detonut
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb Detonut.
Activating sparkling mode!
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb a note.
Pink pool beneath fallen leaves
Lead Yu Ef Oh to a pile of fallen leaves so it absorbs them, revealing a pink pool.
Big Milde burst!
Pop many small Milde above the pink pool to create one large one, then let Yu Ef Oh absorb it.
Hatched inside Yu Ef Oh
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb a large white, pink, and purple egg. After a few seconds, it will spit out an adult Loppdeecoop.
Nutrients from apples absorbed
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb an apple.
Jett Jelly turned into rain
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb Jett Jelly. After absorption, rain will fall for a few seconds.
Billeau gas explosion
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb Billeau. Afterwards, they will shoot upward.
Clever spaceship
Let Yu Ef Oh quickly absorb several flowers. After a few seconds, it will spit out a floral crown.
Ouchin lost its spikes
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb Ouchin. After a few seconds, it will spit it out without spikes.
Merging into a big Floofly!
Absorb many Floofly at the top of the map. After a few seconds, they will be spat out as one huge Floofly.
Mixed Blorp?!
Let Yu Ef Oh absorb several different Blorp. After a few seconds, it will spit them out combined.
Rescued an alien from a rescue capsule!
Find the rescue capsule floating at the top of the map and let Yu Ef Oh absorb it. It can’t swallow it completely, so you must fly in from below and crash into it several times to break it. This also frees the alien inside.
Alien shelter
After being launched upward from absorbing Billeau, bring the alien from the rescue capsule to the locked door to enter.
Moon surface survey: complete!
Fully fill the meter for the data point in the center of the map. Required to finish the level.
Yu Ef Oh strikes!
Absorb a Tumball. This temporarily blocks Yu Ef Oh’s beam. After a short time, it will stop and fire the stuck Tumball in the direction it’s facing, destroying solid objects in its path.
Greenhouse in space
After you break the metal section of the floor by shooting a Tumball, enter the hole to find the greenhouse.
Sharp cosmic turn
Take a hot pepper from the greenhouse and let Yu Ef Oh absorb it, causing it to spin rapidly.
Shy Guy samples!
After giving Yu Ef Oh the hot pepper, fly to the top of the map and blast through massive metal doors. Pick up the key and return to the room with Billeau. The key opens a locked door behind which several captured Shy Guys await.
Sample cells opened!
This discovery unlocks after using the key to free the Shy Guys.
Shy Guy samples escaped…
Absorb all Shy Guys, and they will briefly take control of Yu Ef Oh to return home.
Spacesuit too sturdy to swallow!
Try to eat the alien from the rescue capsule.
