Each part of the Resident Evil series is famous for many puzzles, secret passages and locked rooms. In Resident Evil Requiem, players also have to search for locked boxes and cabinets in the rehabilitation center. In this detailed guide, you will learn how to open all locked boxes, where to find lockpicks, and also get tips on finding valuable items and secrets in the game.
Where to Find All Lockpicks
All lockpicks can be found only in the rehabilitation center: one in the western wing, two in the eastern wing, and two in the basement. They are used to open locked boxes and cabinets, but after each use, the lockpick breaks and disappears from your inventory.
Lockpick #1 – The Lead Researcher’s Office
As you progress through the story, you will eventually come across the Lead Researcher’s Office, located in the eastern wing. Find a small desk in the left corner of the room, and the first available lockpick will be lying on it.
Lockpick #2 – The Custodian’s Office
After obtaining the bracelet with level one access, you will find the Custodian’s Office near the kitchen in the western wing. Examine the cabinet in the far left corner of the office to obtain the second lockpick.
Lockpick #3 – The Office
Take the stairs to the second floor of the western wing from the ladder near the Custodian’s Office. Entering the correct room, examine the table in the center of the room and pick up the third lockpick.
Lockpick #4 – Tunnel from the Workshop
You will find the fourth lockpick in the tunnel connecting the Workshop to the Inspection Area. To reach it from the workshop, you will need the Square Socket Wrench, which unlocks the ventilation shaft.
Lockpick #5 – Boiler in the Basement
The final key is hidden in the boiler room. To safely reach it, you must pass through the cut wire in the northern part of the location—this will prevent Grace from taking damage from the electrified water nearby.
Where are all the locked cabinets and drawers?
There are three locked drawers and two cabinets located throughout the entire location that can be opened with the obtained keys. Each contains rare metal. This material is necessary for crafting bullets for the “Requiem” revolver during gameplay as Grace. Don’t worry if you weren’t able to collect the drawers on the surface beforehand; you’ll return to the upper floors and be able to open them again before continuing the campaign.
Drawer #1 — Corridor next to the Kitchen
The first drawer can be found in the upper corridor of the western wing between the kitchen and the restrooms. It will be located behind small sofas.
Drawer #2 — Chairman’s Office
On the second floor of the western wing, approach the Chairman’s Office, but do not enter. The second locked drawer will be located next to the door.
Drawer #3 — Eastern Wing Hall
Next to the fireplace in the main hall of the eastern wing will stand the last locked drawer.
Cabinet #1 — Living Room in the Basement
Activate the residential bunk near the guard room using the special plug. Blue cabinets will be located in the left part of the room, one of which can be opened with a lockpick.
The last locked cabinet can be opened in the observation zone, right in front of the long row of hanged bodies. Simply turn left immediately after entering the room.
