The Monastery of Enlightenment in Crimson Desert is a trial that tests not only your combat skills but also your character’s development. Every door in this location is locked behind a stat-point requirement: health, spirit, and stamina. If you’re short on points, you may have to use “Extinct Abyss Artifacts” to redistribute them. Even after you open every door, the trial isn’t over—you’ll face a two-phase boss, Master Du.
How to Demonstrate Strength, Spirit, and Viability
To open the first stone door, you need at least 7 health points in your stats. Just walk up to it.
The next door opens if you have at least 5 spirit points.
The final door requires at least 5 stamina points.
Important: Before stepping through the last door, stock up on healing items like “Palmarr Pills” and food. If you redistributed points with artifacts, restore the stats you’ll need for the fight.
How to Defeat Master Du
Best Attack Tactics
- Use L3+R3 at Focus Level 3 to slow time and build spirit.
- Parry with L1 or dodge with Circle.
- When the boss is stunned, hit L1+R1+R2 for the “Blinding Flash” finisher and L1+R2 for slashing attacks that deal damage and build stun.
- Repeat the loop—those two skills alone are enough to win.
Master Du’s Attacks: Phase One
The boss uses his staff for thrusting and sweeping strikes that can be parried.
He leaps onto pillars and darts around. Activate Focus to slow time; ignore his movement and watch for the red glint above your character. The instant it appears, dodge.
Master Du charges an invulnerable attack—a green laser beam that kills instantly regardless of health. It’s critical to roll sideways the moment he extends his palm to fire.
Master Du’s Attacks: Phase Two
- Attacks can still be parried, but the boss becomes more aggressive and strings longer combos.
- He still jumps onto pillars, only much faster. Ignore his movement and react to the red glint.
- The laser now fires 4–5 pulses in a row. Keep dodging each time he extends his palm.
- The moves are essentially the same as in phase one, just faster and longer. Your counter-strategy stays unchanged.
