In Resident Evil Requiem, after completing the main campaign, an uncompleted achievement called “The Final Puzzle” appears in the extra content menu. This puzzle quickly attracted the attention of players worldwide, and many began to look for a way to solve it. In this guide, we provide a detailed explanation of how to find and solve “The Final Puzzle” in the game.
What is the Essence of the Final Puzzle?
There is only one inscription next to this achievement in the additional content menu: “May the Sweet Couple Hear the Voice”.
We will then describe various fragments of the puzzle that help understand the final solution algorithm.
Severed Hand
The puzzle begins as follows. You need to take the Severed Hand of the “girl” after rescuing Emily from the Roads Hill basement and the elevator scene. You can’t do anything with her and she simply occupies space in your inventory, however, the limb has a hidden application.
Checking the Hand on a Blood Analyzer
Now you can take the severed hand to the hematology office on the first floor of the east wing or the office on the second floor of the west wing and analyze it with the blood analysis system, which is usually used in the game for analyzing samples and improving Grace’s crafting.
The analyzer will present a small puzzle with cubes and spheres. Here is its solution:
- First, press on the cube in the middle of the screen, it will turn into a sphere;
- Then press on the right edge cube;
- Press on the left edge cube.
After that, the black screen with the inscription appears on the computer:
- Let’s play
- GGC AAG AUA ACG UGU CAU
This is the main code for the puzzle, which you need to solve later.
Also after this update, the map is updated, and the puzzle chest in the lead researcher’s office becomes active again, although at this moment it had already been solved.
Hints for the Cipher
Throughout the game, you can find the decryption of a component of the inscription on the analyzer screen. You do not need to precisely locate each of them; we will provide the final cipher later. But we will describe how you can find the various hints for the cipher.
G — Sun
On the microscope that you used to analyze the severed hand, there will be the inscription “G=150000000”. 150,000,000 km is the approximate distance from Earth to the Sun. Therefore, G — Sun.
U — Moon
In the VIP apartments, where you must find the key to the helicopter, you can find hourglasses. Upon closer inspection, you can see the inscription “U=380,000” on them. 380,000 km is the approximate distance from Earth to the Moon. Therefore, U — Moon.
C — Star
In the laboratory under the VIP apartments, you can find a paper with an analysis of the main heroine Grace Ashcroft’s blood, where it is written “C=4.2 light-years”. 4.2 light-years is the distance between Earth and the nearest star to it. Therefore, C — Star.
A — Redundant Letter
You can find this out already in Racoon City, playing as Leon. After the segment in the police station in Racoon City, you will be going through Kendo’s armory. Here you can see a headless doll, which we will need to return to later.
Right now, you need to go to the basketball court. Not far from the broken basketball hoop lies the doll’s head from the store. You need to try and push the head into the hoop with Leon, after which you will hear Leon’s comment: “I don’t have time to waste.” Now return to Kendo’s armory. You can interact with the doll – you will see the message “Just ignore A.” So, A is a superfluous letter in the code.

You need to enter this into the puzzle panel in the lead researcher’s office. After a successful entry, you will hear a laughing child. This is “the voice” from the hint at the very beginning of the puzzle. Now you need to figure out how to make “the sweet couple” hear it.
Algorithm for solving the puzzle
Code, box, severed hand – just clues that players discovered first. “Let the sweet couple hear the voice.” The voice is a laughing child. The sweet couple is Emily and Mari, Girl. We need to activate the puzzle mechanism before Emily and Mari. Let’s tell you how to do it now.
Step #1. Wait 15 minutes in the butcher shop
According to the plot, as Grace, you’ll fall into the tunnels under the ‘Roads Hill’ rehabilitation center. You’ll need to find three plugs to restore power. The third plug is located near the zombie blood tank.
You need to go through the facility with the bodies, after which you’ll find yourself on a platform with a valve and a save belt. Here you need to observe how bodies are dumped into the blood for 15 minutes.
Step #2. Don’t kill zombies in the meat grinder section
After that, you tighten the valve, the blood goes away, and you need to descend on the belt. The belt starts moving towards the meat grinder. Your task here is not to kill any zombies. They should fall into the meat grinder themselves.
Step #3. Return to the rehabilitation center
After connecting the three plugs, you’ll be able to take the elevator with Emily upstairs. There will be a scene with Girl’s severed hand. You don’t have to pick up the hand and do anything with it.
Step #4. Flush eight times in each toilet
In the west wing of the rehabilitation center there is a toilet where you can flush toilets. To complete the quest, you need to press the flush button at each toilet 8 times.
It’s better for Emily to be taken to the safety room so that you can move freely.
Step #5. Continue the game and find the doll Mari
Next, you’ll enter the underground complex under the VIP apartments. According to the plot, the complex begins to collapse, blood spills out of the reservoirs, and you need to quickly escape the complex. Before you start climbing the stairs during the escape, you will see a doll lying in a pool of blood. This is the doll Mari, and it’s exactly her that you need to pick up. You can put the doll in the storage room or leave it in your inventory.
Step #6. Complete the game
Then you need to complete the game to the end without any additional actions.
Step #7. Start “New Game+” and complete until the segment with the elevator
In “New Game+” you will have all the items from the previous playthrough inventory. Including the doll Mari, which you picked up in the water before the stairs. You’ll have to replay the game until the episode with the elevator, where the Girl cuts off her arm.
Step #8. Take Emily and the doll to the box and enter the code</h2
Now you need to take Emily and the doll Marie from your inventory to the office of the leading researcher on the second floor of the eastern wing. Emily should be in your hands, and the doll should be in your inventory. After that, you must enter the code:
