At the beginning of spring, Slay the Spire 2 was released in early access. In this guide, we’ll explain how to play in co-op with friends, how to create lobbies and connect with teammates, and we’ll also describe the features of multiplayer.

Co-op in Slay the Spire 2

Slay the Spire 2 features a four-player co-op, which was not present in the first part. In the following sections, we’ll provide a detailed explanation of how to create lobbies and join sessions.

How to Play in Co-op

Co-op in Slay the Spire 2 operates under its own rules that you need to know:

  • Multiplayer only works in Steam;
  • Each participant in the session must have a purchased copy of the game on Steam;
  • There is no function to find teammates in the game. Find channels in Discord or social networks and messengers if no one in your circle plays Slay the Spire 2. The project has a large fan base, so you will easily find like-minded people;
  • All players act simultaneously during combat, not turn by turn;
  • Health and damage dealt to the enemy depend on the number of players in the team, so the difficulty increases as the group grows;
  • Most rewards are issued individually;
  • Each player chooses their own cards, relics, and potions;
  • All players move together on the same shared map, choosing routes as a group. In the co-op version, the map has a function for drawing on the atlas.

  • Death in co-op mode does not automatically end the run. As long as at least one player is alive, all the dead are resurrected at the end of the current fight.
