Early in your Crimson Desert adventure you’ll meet the Golden Leaf Merchants’ Guild, a once-proud outfit now rotting from corruption. After you topple its brutal leader, Hornspitter, a few bitter loyalists remain. The new chief, Shakatu, will ask you to help him sniff out the traitor.

To start the quest “The Closest Enemy” you must first finish a short chain of preliminary tasks that open after you talk to Shakatu:

  • “Uneasy Shakatu”
  • “Trade Manager Nogl”
  • “Trade Manager Skraw”
  • “Katnum, Golden Leaf Mercenary”
  • “Stablehand Blick”
  • “Registry Keeper Grimzl”

When those are done, return to Shakatu at the guild camp. He’ll quiz you about the members’ testimonies. Give him the right evidence in this order:

  • Blick’s testimony ⇒ Stable Ledger
  • Skraw’s testimony ⇒ Trade Schedule Log
  • Nogl’s testimony ⇒ Tavern Ledger
  • Grimzl’s testimony ⇒ Residence Permit
  • Katnum’s testimony ⇒ Guard Report

Answer correctly and Shakatu will task you with arresting the traitor—Grimzl.
