Each person has a unique mood that radiates into their surroundings. It shapes how they present themselves and interact with others. But how does this concept translate into the game Paralives?

In this life simulator, selecting a character’s mood is a key part of their creation. Let’s explore what each mood means for your character and how it influences their interactions.

Choosing a Mood in Paralives (and Its Impact)

  • Save

When setting up a new household in Paralives, navigate to the Personality tab in the top-left corner (marked by a brain icon). Here, you’ll allocate seven personality points, select a social trait, talent, lifestyle, and choose your character’s mood. Click ‘Choose One’ next to the Mood tab to open the selection menu. You can pick from five moods:

  • Cheerful
  • Gloomy
  • Energetic
  • Serious
  • Jokester

  • Save

Your character’s mood unlocks unique dialogue options and actions that align with their personality. For instance, a Jokester might use playful, humorous lines during conversations or flirtations—often with a wink or a joke.

Here’s a breakdown of how each mood affects gameplay!

Cheerful Mood Effects

  • Save

  • Cheerful characters naturally spread joy. Their Happiness Aura boosts the mood of nearby residents, making them easier to socialize with.

This mood is ideal for building positive relationships. Keep them happy and fulfilled, and they’ll thrive. They especially enjoy sharing exciting or heartwarming stories from their day.

Gloomy Mood Effects

  • Save

  • Gloomy characters are drawn to sharing sad or reflective stories, especially with acquaintances.

When they’re sad, their sadness meter gains an extra point. Avoid pairing them with Cheerful characters, as the latter’s aura might irritate them.

Energetic Mood Effects

  • Save

  • Energetic characters have a stamina bar that fills as they complete tasks. This energy can be used to boost their mood, take a nap, or eat an energy bar from the fridge—a perk exclusive to this mood.

When their energy is high, they’re more productive. However, excess energy can lead to stress if not managed properly.

Serious Mood Effects

  • Save

  • Serious characters may make dark or inappropriate jokes, especially about heavy topics like nuclear energy.

When focused on important tasks, they enter a ‘Zone’ state, ignoring all needs until the task is complete. This can be both helpful and risky!

Jokester Mood Effects

  • Save

  • Jokester characters thrive when their “fun” meter is full but can be erratic.

Beyond their humorous interactions, playing as a Jokester brings unpredictability. After the first day, they’ll randomly neglect one need daily—this won’t appear on their status panel until the next day, and they won’t stop the activity aimed at fulfilling that need automatically.
