One of the joys of life simulators like Paralives is the chance to build your own family. It’s not just about the character creator—if you want your Sims to have kids, you have two options: biology or adoption.

How to Create Characters Who Can Get Pregnant and Impregnate
Save
When you create a character in the editor, click the three‑dot button next to the gender options to open the advanced personality settings.
Here you can set whether the character can become pregnant or can impregnate someone else, plus tweak other parameters. For a natural birth, you need one character who can get pregnant and another who can impregnate.
These settings can’t be altered once the character is saved, but no worries—you can always adopt instead.
How to Have a Child
First, build your relationship (and relationship labels) with another character. Eventually a pop‑up with the “Flirt” emotion will appear, giving you the option to “Try for a baby with…”.

After that, the next time you talk to them you’ll see a new interaction card: “Ask if they want to try for a baby RIGHT NOW.” Once you use it, you’ll be told you can attempt pregnancy together whenever you like.
If you struggle to complete interaction cards, use a story card that boosts flirting success for 24 hours, then try again.

To try for a baby, select a bed and click “Try for a baby.” Your characters will hop under the covers, and once they’re finished you can click the toilet and choose “Take a pregnancy test” to see if it worked.
You can raise the odds of pregnancy—and of twins or triplets—via the Storyteller settings menu.

Once a character becomes pregnant, each trimester lasts one day (unless you adjust the setting), so the baby arrives after three in‑game days. After birth, you’ll be prompted to name the baby and pick which parent’s surname they’ll inherit.
How to Adopt
Save
You can adopt a child by interacting with the Hospital (located across from the Community Center) or the Pharmacy (across from the pizzeria) on the map and selecting “Adopt a child.”
The adoption process takes several in‑game hours, after which your character returns with a new baby and you’ll be prompted to choose a name.
You can’t choose the child’s gender, so feel free to save before adopting and reload until you get the result you want.
