How to Open the “Anchorpoint” Safe in Starfield: All Puzzles and Hints

  • Save

The “Anchorpoint” safe in Starfield is a puzzle added in the “Freestar Collective” update. To open it you must track down five clues whose locations are hidden in riddles on a computer. Collect all five and the sealed safe pops open, but the riddles are scattered across the entire Anchorpoint station and can be pretty obtuse—especially if you’d rather not burn an extra digipick to get a clearer hint.

In this guide I’ll show you where to find every riddle-clue in Starfield so you can crack the Anchorpoint safe, claim the reward, and decide whether the whole hunt is worth it.

How to open the sealed safe on Anchorpoint station in Starfield

The banged-up safe on Anchorpoint is wired to a glitchy computer. To unlock it you need to locate five station-wide “clues” left by a local riddle nut. Each time you retrieve a clue and punch it into the computer you’ll get the next riddle. When every clue has been fed in, the safe unlocks and you can loot a single, very punchy item.

Getting the quest rolling is easy. From Darci Weber’s shop, spin 180° and head down the corridor that now faces you (left of the stairs). The safe and its computer sit straight ahead in a tiny storeroom.

You can’t interact with the safe itself, only the computer, which spits out the first riddle. Each riddle can be hacked for a more explicit location hint, but with this walkthrough you won’t need to.

Clue 1 location

Riddle: “Before the station greeted me, I stared at my ship. Neighboring the trash, I tucked this clue beneath a gloomy companion.”

Head back to the docking bay where your ship is parked and face Danika Volkov’s greeting desk. Turn right; at the dead end you’ll spot a yellow waste bin. Manually drag the plastic barrels out of the way (hold Interact / A) and you’ll find the clue under the blue pail. Carry it to the broken computer and slot it in—repeat for every clue.

Clue 2 location

Riddle: “Alone in the crowd, where voices and music vie for dominance, I looked up and saw an unflinching mate. Broken like me, I entrusted this clue to that watcher.”

Return to the main bar where Valeria Khan works. Above the counter hang two TVs—one working, one dead. Jet-pack up to the dead screen; the clue is on the bracket behind it.

Clue 3 location

Riddle: “Cornered and forgotten like trash, I remain here. Striving to be overlooked, this clue hangs like a fly caught in a web.”

Between vendors Killian Bryce and Darci Weber is a corridor marked “Storage,” blocked by plastic shutters instead of a door. Just inside on the left is a pile of garbage; look at the ceiling and you’ll see two mesh grates. The farther grate holds the third clue.

Clue 4 location

Riddle: “In the house of the beast and its maker I ponder my place. To lift my mood I must rise from my funk to hide this clue.”

From the bar go left past the crew quarters and drop into the engineering section. In the back sits an industrial workbench with a pull-up bar beside it. Glued to the ceiling above the bar is the fourth clue.

Clue 5 location

Riddle: “In the deity’s chambers I stand as an intruder. I hoped the inner sanctum would bring pride, but only mockery remains. I hurriedly leave the final clue, unable to bear this night.”

Above the bar is the Operations Center, which contains a Novice-locked room. Inside is Rishi Saint’s bedroom. Between the bed and the right-hand nightstand you’ll spot the fifth and final clue. Feed it into the broken computer and the safe will open.
