One of the first quests in Masters of Albion is helping a hermit named John Bovi finish a stone circle. Once the circle is completed, you can use it to play a melody. This quest serves as a fun reminder of your divine ability to lift and move boulders, as well as the interactivity of the world.

You aren’t given detailed instructions for this quest, so it can leave you stuck. There are even a few traps that might make you feel like you’re heading the wrong way. Here we’ll explain everything about this quest and how to complete it.

Masters of Albion is in early access, so the details below may change during development.

When you start this quest, a circle of empty slots will appear around the hermit. Obviously, each slot is meant for a stone that should become part of the circle.

The problem is that you need to make sure each slot is filled with its specific stone. There are eight slots, but there are more stones nearby. How can you tell which stones to use?

Be sure to look around for the right stones—they may be well hidden and look like ordinary boulders until you pick them up!

Click on any stone after you place it in a slot—just once, don’t hold the button, or you’ll pick it up again. The stone will start vibrating, emitting a sound and visible waves. If the stone is in the correct spot, the sound will be pure and the waves will be straight. If the stone is misplaced, the sound will be dissonant and the waves will be wavy.

Simply try each stone in each empty slot and test them until you find the right ones. Some of the stones you find may not fit any slot—you can ignore or discard them. Essentially, it’s just a trial‑and‑error method until you locate the correct placements. There’s no other way to know which stone goes where.

After completing the stone circle, click on the tent in the center to finish the quest.
