What are Emergency Exits and How Do They Work?
Emergency Exits are quick travel points scattered throughout each sector. When interacting with an exit, Hugh instantly returns to the Shelter – without loading screens or menu switching. There, you can upgrade equipment, replenish repair cartridge supplies, change equipment, and return to the same exit via the Tram Terminal.
The downside: enemies respawn, and some puzzles reset. However, collected resources are not lost. If you die before reaching an exit, you’ll simply respawn in the Shelter and return to the tram.
After unlocking Diana’s “Scanning” ability, the nearest emergency exit will be displayed on your HUD along with the current objective. This is especially useful in new locations with unknown layouts.
Important: Emergency Exits are not included in the sector completion percentage (100%). They are tracked separately for the following trophy/achievement:
Escape Master
- Unlock all emergency exits. Emergency exits are a way to return to the Shelter between encounters. Find and activate each exit in the Cradle.
Location of All Emergency Exits by Sector
There are a total of 27 emergency exits in the five sectors:
- Solar Power Plant: 3
- Mass Production Array: 5
- Terracube: 6
- Lunar Mines: 7
- Central Port: 6
None of them can be permanently missed. Any missed exit can be activated in Unknown Signal Mode – a free exploration mode after the story, where all sectors remain fully open.
Sector 1: Solar Power Plant

Energy Distribution Center
Location: On the story path, impossible to miss.
Main Control Room
Location: On the story path, soon after Exit 1. Cannot be missed.
Elevator to Boss (Upper Level)
Location: Appears only after defeating the SectorGuard boss. After the fight, you are automatically taken to the Shelter; return manually to activate the exit.
Sector 2: Mass Production Array

Testing Ground Entrance
Location: Immediately after Diana closes the door to save Hugh. Cannot be missed.
Trade District
Location: After crossing the first printed bridge, to your right.
Side Alley
Location: On the story path.
Reprocessing Complex “Lime”
Location: In the next room after defeating the large enemy resembling a marionette.
Communication Tower
Location: Behind the gates that open after activating all 6 Beacons. Do not leave the sector without activating this exit.
Sector 3: Terracube

Terracube Entrance
Location: Inside the main building, follow the left path from the main elevator.
Environmental Modeling Laboratory
Location: In the room where you grow several branches to cross. The entrance to the Red Zone is right next to it.
Central Hall (Upper Floor)
Location: After taking the elevator, in front of the locked door.
Soil Exploration
Location: Behind the door with four locks. To pass, you need to unlock all four.
Terrarium
Location: In front of the door with the “DANGER” sign, at the bottom after taking the elevator.
Sector 4: Lunar Mines

Mine Entrance
Location: The first building you enter after the first encounter with the “Lunadigger”. Cannot be missed.
Warehouse
Location: Right in front of you as you enter the warehouse building.
Location: At the top, at the end of the zip line inside the warehouse.
Main Excavation
Location: Immediately after the section with excavation rules.
Location: In the same room where the Red Zone key for this area is located.
Nexus Tower
Location: The first building you enter in the Nexus Tower sub-location, in the same room as “Training Data 2”.
