The long-awaited Nioh 3 delighted fans of RPGs with its revolutionary combat system. In this installment of the legendary franchise, the hero is able to instantly switch between “Ninja” and “Samurai” styles, thanks to which gamers can assemble dozens of unique builds. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to quickly level up your character, where to find spirit stones, how to make an offering, and describe other useful tips.
How to Quickly Level Up in Nioh 3
You can increase your level using any altar where the hero restores his strength. To do this, open the shrine menu and select the “Level Up” function.
- Build (Constitution): Affects the health bar. When increasing other parameters, you gain health points.
- Spirit (Heart): Increases the volume and speed of Ki filling.
- Stamina (Stamina): Increases the weight limit.
- Strength (Strength): Increases melee attack strength and Ki damage.
- Skill (Skill): Affects the strength of ranged attacks and ninjutsu.
- Wisdom (Intellect): Increases the duration of effects, as well as the speed of Ki replenishment and damage.
- Magic): Influences on ommedo magic.
Leveling up occurs by purchasing one of the seven parameters. Acquiring attributes consumes Amrita, also known as experience points.
How to farm Amrita
Amrita (Amrita) is a special resource primarily used to purchase experience points, through which the hero’s level is increased. It can be obtained in several ways:
- Killing enemies.
- Spiritual stones.
- Offerings.
- Passive bonuses.
- Exploring the world.
In the following sections, we will describe each Amrita acquisition method in detail.
Farming Amrita from Enemies
Killing enemies is the most profitable, but also the most time-consuming way to farm experience. Mobs can be found throughout the world and respawn after resting at a shrine. Therefore, it is worth finding a place where you easily handle the opponents that appear near the altar. There is no sense in traveling to high-level locations for a bigger reward if the battles there are too difficult. Also, it’s important to remember: the stronger the enemy – a normal enemy, a mini-boss or a boss – the more experience and rewards you will receive for killing it.
How to Farm Spiritual Stones
Spiritual Stones — yellow crystals with a golden sheen. In the inventory, this consumable item is found in the “Quick Buttons” category. Minerals come in various sizes and can yield from a hundred to several thousand amrits. The guaranteed way to obtain these stones is to destroy yokai.
The most yokai spawn in forges, so to farm stones, you need to regularly clear the starting forge of the Hamamatsu castle. Crystals also appear in the bodies of fallen warriors, in chests. They are also awarded as a reward for completing side quests.
Tip: Use spiritual stones when you’re slightly short on amrits for leveling up. It’s not worth breaking them once they come into your possession.
How to Make an Offering in the Shrine
Donation is one of the ways to get rid of excess equipment and gain many amrits. On your journey, you will receive a lot of different weapons and armor that you can exchange for experience points. To do this, you need to approach the shrine and perform the following actions:
- In the main menu of the shrine, select the line “Preparation”.
- Go to the “Make an Offering” section, after which a list of all items in your inventory will open.
- Select an unwanted item.
- Click the “Make an Offering” option.
Pay attention to the window in the bottom right corner. It displays the value of the item and your current amrita balance. Please note that not all weapons and armor can be exchanged for experience; these items are better sold to a merchant. Also, as with soulstones, the more powerful the item, the greater the rewards you will receive.
Items with Amrita Bonus
Almost every item in the game has a unique set of characteristics. Sometimes you will encounter garments with a bonus to amrita acquisition. This effect can also be added independently by reforging the item with a blacksmith.
If the modifier that increases amrita income is added to all equipment items, the character will receive 20-30% more experience. This will allow you to accelerate the progression process by a quarter or more. As a result, you can create a build focused exclusively on amrita gathering.
How to Find Amrita in the Open World
Experience can be found not only by killing enemies or making donations, but also simply by exploring locations. On the map, you can find bright clouds with a characteristic yellow glow – these are treasure chests with amrita. Also, bodies of fallen warriors and numerous chests are scattered throughout secluded corners. Therefore, we recommend taking your time and carefully studying the locations.
Best Amrita Farming Locations
Unfortunately, so far no one has found a glitch allowing you to instantly obtain a lot of Amrita. However, there are many strategies for quickly earning experience that we will share with you:
- Flight from Chikotoko Slope. At the end of the second introductory mission, you will first fight Yamagata Masakage. Before the arena, a yokai roams, from which you will drop 700 Amrita. There is a soldier camp located before the shrine, which is very convenient to hit by climbing the archer tower.
- The Incident in Hamamatsu. Not far from the door to Djakotsu-Baba, near the shrine, a one-legged yokai appears. This level section is well-designed, so you can easily suddenly attack him from behind. Thus, you can literally gain several levels in just a few minutes.
- Side Quest “Groans in the Valley” (Groans in the Valley). The goal of the quest is to descend along the cliffs and fight the boss Kamaitachi. The path to the dragon takes about a minute. The fight will be simple, and as a reward you will get more than 5000 experience.
- Repeating Tasks. There are several such dimensions in the game world where many yokai spawn. Clearing these locations gives tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of Amrita. To restart the event, approach the shrine, select “Battle Scroll” and restart the furnace, for example, at Hamamatsu Castle. The same applies to all other quests.
Currently, the most profitable way to obtain Amrita is by re-doing quests. Try not to pay too much attention to quickly leveling up, because the race for high stats will turn your playthrough into a multi-hour meaningless grind. Level up only when necessary.
For example, you can’t defeat Djakotcu-Baba on the fifth attempt overcoming Djakotcu-Baba. This means you have an incorrect build or weak attributes. Return to the forge and complete it a couple of times to increase your levels.
At the same time, there is no sense in re-doing the same quests dozens of times, which will not have a significant effect on character progression. Play as usual, simply following the storyline, completing side quests, and exploring the world. Start enhanced experience farming in cases when you are struggling to cope with ordinary enemies in a region that makes sense to you.
Tips for Leveling Up
To maximize the efficiency of your character’s progression, we recommend following these tips from this list:
- Spirit is the best starting skill for leveling up on all builds.
- Invest enough stamina so that the weight of your equipment does not exceed 70% of the maximum allowable.
- Level up “Skill” if you’re building a ninja build.
- The best weapon for a samurai is the spear, for a ninja it’s the twin katana.
- Study mob behavior. Almost any enemy can be defeated in just a couple of hits. Just know when and how they attack, and always try to strike first.
- Always have at least a quarter of your stamina bars, save it for dodges.
- Throw boss enemies with throwing weapons – this way you can reduce any monster’s health by half in the first minute of the fight.
- Change builds. No matter what skill, armor, and weapon build you have, it will eventually become ineffective.
- Dodge to the side of the enemy – this way you won’t miss hits and you’ll end up behind the opponent.
- Equip weapons and armor according to your stats. Gear should complement your leveled-up attributes.
